UL SYSTEM STATEMENT REGARDING DEATH OF ELSIE BURKHALTER
Elsie Burkhalter committed her life to enhancing education in 青涩直播. She was a pivotal member of the Board of Supervisors for the University of 青涩直播 System for 18 years including serving as the Board’s first African American female Board Chair.
During her tenure on the Board she participated in university presidential searches for Southeastern 青涩直播 University, Grambling State University, McNeese State University and University of 青涩直播 at Lafayette. Burkhalter was appointed to the Board by Governor Edwin Edwards in 1993 and reappointed by Governor Mike Foster and Governor Kathleen Blanco in 1999 and 2005 respectively.
We appreciate each contribution she made to our System during her tenure.
